Delta LP plan ahead of 2019, seeks credible candidate

The chairman of Labour Party, LP, Delta state, Chief Tony Ezeagwu, has stated that the party was not disturbed about the exit of Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, the party’s governorship candidate in 2015 election who has now defected to the All Progressives Congress.

Ezeagwu in a addressing a press conference in Asaba stated that the constitution of Nigeria empowers her citizens’ freedom of association and thought, saying since Ogboru has left, he was free to do so.

He maintained that after Ogboru left, a fresh registration exercise was carried out by the party across the state.

He opined that the registration exercise was very encouraging as more persons have joined the LP in the state.

He averred that the party will field a credible, acceptable and presentable governorship candidate in 2019 elections who will win polls for the party.
