AMAC traffic marshals commence sanctions against wrong parking

In order to tackle traffic gridlock in some major streets of Abuja municipality, the Marshal General of Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC Marshals, Kasim Isyaku Chicha, has called on motorists to cultivate the habit of parking their vehicle at designated areas to avoid having their vehicles impounded.
Chicha said this weekend after a meeting with the chairman of AMAC, Hon. Abudullahi Adamu Candido.
Candido gave the security outfit of the council the marching order to apprehend and fine any motorist who refuses to obey rules of parking rightly in the council.
The marshal boss noted that in order to maintain zero level of wrong parking in the council, the security outfit has concluded arrangement to commence enforcement in major streets of AMAC starting from Monday 24, Oct. 2016 in collaboration with the police, VIO and road safety officials.
Some of the wrong parking include: pedestrian walkways, parking on U turn, parking on road marks, double parking.
Chicha revealed that the administration has instructed the AMAC marshals to apprehend persons who refuse to make use of pedestrian bridges in order to reduce daily loss of life on highways.
He said that the effort of the AMAC Administration is geared towards ensuring law and orderliness.
