By Edrina EMMANUEL

The Mandate Secretary of Federal Capital Territory Administration in charge of Transportation Secretariat, Comrade Kayode Opeifa, has threatened to deal decisively with any officer of the Directorate of Road Traffic Services, DRTS, who fails to desist from unwholesome behaviour.

He gave this warning last week during the opening ceremony of specialized training for road traffic personnel held in Abuja

"May I therefore use this medium to warn all staff to desist from unwholesome attitudes that are inimical to the good image of the Directorate, all staff are expected to be on the path of righteousness as required by the service; thus, the FCT Administration will not condone any act of indiscipline or corruption in the discharge of your responsibilities”, he warned.

Opeifa urged the staff to be serious with the training and grasps appropriate knowledge needed for the discharge of their duties, even as he tasked them to maximally utilize the training centre for knowledge and skills acquisition in other to ensure that they are abreast with international best practices.

He maintained that training and retraining of staff will be continuous in ensuring that all staff have necessary skills to perform their duties optimally and encourage all staff to see this training as an avenue to be pruned and reshaped for better service delivery.

Opeifa used the occasion to appreciate development partners like the National Communications Commission for the initiative taken to provide this facility at no cost to FCT Administration, Temple Resources and other multinationals like Japan International Corporation Agency, JICA, for training of personnel of the directorate, while calling on other multinational organizations to emulate such gestures.
