Police Confirm Four Personnel Killed In Benue

The Benue State Police Command has said that four of its personnel has been killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

A statement issued on Monday by the Public Relations Officer, Benue State Command, Moses Yamu, stated that the incident occurred on Sunday, at Anyibe, Logo LGA of the State.

"The Benue State Police Command regret to report that its personnel came under attack of Insurgents at Anyibe, Logo LGA of the State between 1800hrs of yesterday, 15th April, 2018 and early morning of date.

"Sadly, at the moment, four casualties have been suffered by the Police.”

The police said additional reinforcement, including the air Asset of the Police, have been deployed by the Inspector General of Police are in pursuit of the murderous gang.

"They shall definitely be apprehended with their weapons of destruction and made to face the full wrath of the law", it said.

It could be recalled that the community and other places in Benue has been under serious attacks by marauding Fulani herdsmen.

Thousands of people have been killed while over 180,000 including women and children are living in dehumanizing conditions in IDP camps in the state.
