FG restates commitment to competent workforce in FUCs

Nigeria’s Education Ministry has restated its commitment towards training and retraining  staff across cadres to ensure effective  workforce in Federal Unity Colleges.

Permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Arch. Sonny Echono, gave the assurance in Abuja while  inducting newly recruited education officers into the public service in conformity with civil service rules and regulations.

Echono noted that education is a vital aspect of every social system as such the availability of qualitative and functional education system will check issues of school drop-outs as well as out-of-school children.

He disclosed that the workshop was meant to induct participants into the civil service and to introduce them to the core ethics and values of the public service rules and administrative procedures that would guide their conducts and prevent them from making mistakes that might pitch them against constituted authorities.

The Perm Sec advised the inductees to consider their employment as a rare privilege to contribute their quota to the development of the nation.

Earlier, the Director Human Resources, Mr. Auwalu Koko, said one of the major ways through which effectiveness and efficiency of personnel can be guaranteed is by inculcating in them the Professional Ethics required of Education Officers.
