Defections: No alarm in AMAC APC, says Candido

The chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Abdullahi Adamu Candido, has dismissed any fears about the fortunes of the party in the council, stressing that the All Progressives Congress, APC, in AMAC remains is intact.

Candido declared this while addressing journalists on the party affairs, assuring members of the party not to lose sleep over the defections at National Assembly and in the APC generally.

“We want to assure the party that APC is intact and waxing stronger and by the grace of God 2019 will be another successful outing for APC as a party in the FCT,” he said.

“There is no crack as far as I’m concerned. We are politicians and we can’t read the minds of people from their facial expressions but because of what happened you will agree with me that some people that are not strong will begin to tell something else.

“So for those that are planning to defect better do it now so that we may plan ahead.

“As for APC members in AMAC we want to assure them that APC will not lose any sleep because of the defections.”

According to the chairman, the administration owes the electorate an explanation about its affairs considering happenings in the country, adding that President Muhammadu Buhari has deepened democracy by his response to the decampees.

He went on to say, "in our area council, you will not hear of anybody defecting. For those who may wish to defect however, they better do it now so that we will begin to plan ahead.

"For any council executive member under this administration who wants to be seen as defecting you are free, let us know them so that we can keep moving with the correct progressives around us.

“We want to have progressives that are deep rooted we wouldn’t want to plait our hair with lies. For those who have decided to defect we have a word for them, ‘they better see reason and do the right thing because the president will not lose sleep and he will emerge victorious in 2019.”
