Adeosun bows to pressure, resigns
The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun may have finally bowed to pressure and put in her resignation from President Buhari's cabinet.
The President has been under pressure to fire Adeosun since the allegations of her allege forgery of NYSC certificate went public in July this year.
Though no official words from the ministry or the minister's spokes persons yet, Adeosun's resignation may not be unconnected to the forthcoming elections. Pundits believe her resignation is a deliberate move by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to gain some political points as electioneering campaigns draw closer.
With Adeosun's resignation and the recent payment of N13billion to Osun state for the Paris Club Refund which enabled the state pay up some of its backlog of salaries, critics of the present administration believe the development could work in the APC's favour.
Efforts to reach the minister's Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Oluyinka Akintunde, were unsuccessful as calls put across to him were unanswered.
