UBEC urges commitment to school census

The Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, has urged states to be more committed towards ensuring that the ongoing national personnel audit yields expected results.

Executive Secretary of UBEC, Dr Hamid Bobboyi, stated this while interacting with the Management of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB.

Bobboyyi led a UBEC team to Lagos to interact with stakeholders and seek their support to ensure a hitch free mop-up of school data in the state, a statement by the commission said.

The UBEC boss stressed the need for all stakeholders to be more committed to effective data gathering in order to enhance proactive planning for UBE service delivery in the country.

He noted the peculiar nature of Lagos State with its large population of private schools which need to be properly captured in order to have comprehensive data on key basic education delivery indices.

The UBEC team monitoring the mop-up exercise in the South West is expected to visit Lagos and Oyo States.
