Minimum wage increase will make no difference if… - Ali Baba

Veteran comedian, Ali   Baba, has shared his thoughts on the new increase in minimum wage for Nigerian civil servants from N18,000 to N30,000, as advocated by organized labour.

He argued that if the current exchange rate doesn’t drop and fuel is still imported, then the increased minimum wage will make no difference.

“Market forces will swallow up that salary increase in 3-months. The quality of life has to be much better. The exchange rate has to drop to say N100 to $1, and with fuel still being imported, no chance of that happening”, he wrote.

However, just to make himself happy, he celebrated the increase from N18,000 to N30,000.

“Hey let’s celebrate, minimum wage is now N30,000. Some governors who have not been able to pay 18k must now pay 30k. Oya let’s dance jare”, he wrote on his Instagram page.

Yemi Alade, Flavour spark off romance rumour

Nigerian high-life musician, Flavour Na’bania and Yemi Alade have probably misled the public to belief that they are in a romantic relationship.

While some critics believe that their romantic pictures Yemi Alade has been sharing on social media may be a promotional strategy for Flavour’s new song titled ‘Crazy Love’, featuring her, many believe it may be a stylish way of announcing that they are dating.

Biggerson wrote, “Yemi, you are beautiful and flavour fits you die I swear, best couple in town.” One Sabina also agreed that though their romance isn’t as beautiful as that of Tiwa and Wizkid, they are a good match. “They both fit each other but no stew like Tiwa andWizkid”, she wrote.

Marjibs advised them to get married quickly; “Abeg make una get married fast o”, and Nene was in support, “Abeg Yemi marry flavour already. If na me I go do the same. The guy is too handsome and I’m a great fan of his. Love you both.” Tosin Olaoye wasn’t left out, he wrote, “Good match if they can keep it that way and make it more mature”.

Another fan wrote “Perfect match”.

According to Emmy, this is another Tiwa and Wizkid in the making. “Another Stew in the making”, he wrote, and Shashystone concurred; “You guys make a good match. The stew still de boil”. Ben approved of the union; “They look good together”, while one Desmond agreed too; “You guys will make a great couple”, they both wrote.

Fela’s daughter attacks celebrities over bad governance

Motunrayo Anikulapo-Kuti, daughter of late afro-beat maestro, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, is not happy with Nigerian celebrities over their refusal to address socio-economic and political problems in the country, using their celebrity status.

According to Motunrayo who is never afraid to eloquently bare her mind on sensitive issues of interest, she has no respect for celebrities guilty of this accusation because to her they are dummies who do not have the progress of the nation at heart.

“Nigeria is lost. Why do Nigerians like too much fake life? Why are people with voices not addressing the problems we have in Nigeria? Why is everybody acting like all is well when clearly it isn’t?

“If you are a celebrity and you can’t speak up about the state and problems in our so called great country Nigeria, I don’t respect you. To whom voice is given voice is expected, morons.

“Politician will promise your village wheel barrow and bore holes and they will be happy. You’re here in Lagos claiming happiness is free. I don’t even know who is crazy again”, she fumed.
