FRSC tasks motorists on 100 speed limit

Unit commander in charge of Yangoji command in Kwali area council, Mr. Godwin Samgbaza, has tasked motorists to maintain 100 speed limits while plying the road.

He disclosed this to The Abuja Inquirer while carrying out five-day special enforcement patrol along the Abuja/Lokoja road aimed at sending signals to drivers and commuters about their presence on the highway.

He noted the command would be operating based on networking with other commands along same corridor with a view to tracking down traffic offenders who escaped, threatening that they would be apprehended in Gwagwalada, Zuba or Abaji command.

Samgbaza appealed to commercial drivers and okada riders to desist from using 'U' turn and one way in order not to cause avoidable accident, just as he enjoined them to comply with traffic rules and regulations more especially at the ember months.

He vowed to ensure the protection of lives and property of the motoring public along the Kwali axis, noting that very soon the command would relocate to man traffic at Piri Bridge where construction work is ongoing to prevent traffic snarl that may occur due to diversion.
