Group backs APC FCT senatorial candidate

The Nigerian Youth Organisation, NYO FCT Chapter, has said the group will liaise with all the indigenous and non-indigenous ethnic groups to mobilize support for the All Progressives Congress senatorial candidate, Hon. Zaphaniah Jisalo, for 2019.

Chairman of the group, Comrade Israel Opaluwa, stated this at an event where the group endorsed Jisalo.

Opaluwa said the forum would liaise with other ethnic groups and all categories of people in the FCT to convince them to vote for Jisalo.

He said the people of the FCT has been short-changed in the senate on several occasions, while legislations that could have given FCT a mayoral status and ministerial status could not scale through due to lack of capacity and interest for the people of the FCT.

"Our concern simply put is that 2019 senatorial election in FCT offers a golden opportunity for the actualisation of the rescue mission towards the people oriented legislation and representation.

"We are irrevocable committed to taking the message of hope which Jisalo represents to the electorate who will reject third term ambition of a senator that cannot lobby his colleagues for something good for his people.

"We have the mechanism to liaise with other ethnic nationalities to join hands with us to rescue the FCT and we will achieve this with the instruction we give to all our Area Council NYO chairmen and ward executives across all the FCT to begin data base membership with PVC in order to ensure Hon. Zephaniah Jisalo victory as senator come 2019 general election is achieved", he said.
