Sammie Okposo blasts Akpororo

Popular gospel singer, Sammie Okposo believes in ‘practicing what you preach.’ And that’s why he came down heavily on comedian cum gospel artiste, Akpororo for taking off his shirt while performing at a street praise Jamz in Lagos.

Akpororo, who’s known for his radical praises on the street performed at an end of the year concert.

The comedian had taken off his shirt at some point and this did not go down well with singer Sammie Okposo as he took to his Instagram page to condemn Akpororo for the act.

“Why did you remove your shirt?” He queried before going ahead to blast the fiery worshipper for the act.”

“Akpororo wetin make you remove your shirt!!! Why you go remove your shirt on top a strictly gospel music stage. This is an alter of praise and worship unto God, this is not funny at all. This is totally wrong and out of order,”Okposo wrote.

Interestingly, he has since deleted his comment and acknowledged his error.


Burnaboy’s ‘Ye’ is The song of 2018 – 2face

Nigerian music star, 2face has unofficially declared Burna Boy’s trending song ‘Ye’ as the song of 2018.

Tubaba made this declaration t during the Burnaboy’s show, which held at the Convention Centre, Eko hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

2face who graced the event alongside D’banj had joined Burna Boy on stage during a performance to hail the talented artiste.

While on stage, 2face declared that: “Everybody here, if you agree with me, you know that ‘Ye’ is the song of 2018.The crowd had cheered and agreed to the declaration.

Burnaboy who is still referred to as one of the most underrated Nigerian stars has made a name for himself globally since the release of the ‘Ye’ song with his album already breaking boundaries and topping charts internationally!

The show was graced the likes of Wande Coal, DBanj, Wizkid, Davido, Duncan Mighty, among others.


US, Germany, Australia, Canada participate in Calabar Bikers Carnival

Competitors from the United States, Canada, Germany and Australia are participating in this year’s Bikers’ Parade in the ongoing Calabar Carnival.

Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River made this known while fagging-off the event in Calabar last Thursday.

“Some of our friends from various countries of the world are here to participate in the bikers’ parade.

“We have nationals from Germany, US, Canada, Australia and others as you can see,” he said.

According to him, Calabar carnival has become an international brand which draws interest from people all over the world.

The governor said that some unique features had been introduced into this year’s bikers’ parade as well as other events to improve what had been on ground. 

“We are going to give you a new version of what Carnival Calabar represents. Today we have added, “Wonder on Wheels 2018 ’’ with a brand of Formula K bikes.

“You will witness displays and things you have never seen before,” Ayade said.

He added that Cross River had a unique history which the carnival represented.


Davido allegedly slaps Kizz Daniel’s manager at show

David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido allegedly slapped Kizz Daniel’s manager, Oluwatumininu Lawrence, during his show on Thursday.

Lawrence on his Twitter handle, bashed Davido, over what he termed “fake love.” He also shamed those, who he said witnessed the assault and did nothing. They were Davido’s manager, Asa Asika and Bizzle Osikoya.

While he refused to share details of what transpired at Davido’s show, other Twitter users had no such restraint.

Twitter users revealed that the assault happened when Davido and his crew came backstage, where Lawrence was trying to find out when his artiste, Kizz Daniel was going to perform.

It was revealed that Lawrence was shoved from behind, a drink poured on him and a slap landed on him as well.

It was also reported that Kizz Daniel left the venue of the show without performing.

Davido and Kizz Daniel did a hit song together called, One Ticket.

Kizz Daniel has since apologised to his manager on his Instagram page.


Ogidi community to dedicate cultural centre to Chinua Achebe

The Ogidi community in Anambra State has made arrangement to build a world class heritage centre, which will to be named after renowned writer, Chinua Achebe.

The Chinua Achebe Cultural and Event Centre, as it will be called, will also serve as a resort and resource centre, among other things.

This was made public by the traditional ruler of Ogidi, Igwe Alexander Onyido, Ezechuamagha 1 of Ogidi, during the re-instatement and induction ceremony of the Ogidi Social Club of Nigeria in Lagos last Friday.

The traditional ruler said that cultural heritage was one of the priorities of the community, while addressing the indigenes at the event, which held at the Ogidi Civic Centre in FESTAC Town.

At the colourful ceremony, which featured a grand display of the deep cultural heritage of the Ogidi people, the Ogidi Social Club, set up primarily to promote love, unity and the spirit of progress amongst the indigenes, initiated a fresh start with the reinstatement and induction of old and new members after nearly 25 years of inactivity.
