There were once two brothers who lived on the edge of a forest. The elder brother was very mean to his younger brother and ate up all the food and took all his good clothes. One day, the elder brother went into the forest to find some firewood to sell in the market.

As he went around chopping the branches of trees, he came upon a magical tree. The tree said to him, ‘Oh kind sir, please do not cut my branches. If you spare me, I will give you my golden apples.’

The elder brother agreed but was disappointed with the number apples the tree gave him. Greed overcame him, and he threatened to cut the entire trunk if the tree didn’t give him more apples.

The magical tree instead showered upon the elder brother hundreds upon hundreds of tiny needles. The elder brother lay on the ground crying in pain as the sun began to lower down the horizon.

The younger brother grew worried and went in search of his elder brother. He found him with hundreds of needles on his skin. He rushed to his brother and removed each needle with painstaking love.

After he finished, the elder brother apologised for treating him badly and promised to be better. The tree saw the change in the elder brother’s heart and gave them all the golden apples they could ever need.

It is important to be kind and gracious as it will always be rewarded.

The greedy crocodile

Once there was a crocodile. He was really hungry. He saw a boy. The boy had some meat in his hand. He decided he wanted to eat both the boy and his meat. He would trick the boy.

The crocodile said, "Oh! Little Boy! Could you please give me some meat?" The boy said, "Oh no, you will eat me" The crocodile said, "I promise, I won't eat you."

So the boy went near the crocodile to give him the meat. But, instead the crocodile tried to catch the boy. It caught just his arm. There came a rabbit. It wanted to help the boy. It did help the boy. The crocodile wanted to eat the rabbit first, so he let go of the boy's arm. The boy ran away and escaped and the rabbit too fled away. The cunning crocodile didn't get his dinner.

I am an object, I cry without a voice, flutter without wings, and bite without teeth; who am I?

What falls but never breaks?

It happens four times in every week, twice in every month and once in a year, what is it?

What cannot be used except it is broken?

What is tall in the morning and short at noon, disappears at night, but comes back soon after?

What has an end but no beginning, a home but no family, and a space without room?

Exercise Makes Your Heart Happy

You may know that your heart is a muscle. It works hard, pumping blood every day of your life. You can help this important muscle get stronger by doing aerobic exercise.

Exercise is good for your lungs. Which of these is your favorite? Biking, Swimming, Dancing and Running.

Aerobic means "with air," So aerobic exercise is a kind of activity that requires oxygen. When you breathe, you take in oxygen, and, if you're doing aerobic exercise, you may notice you're breathing faster than normal. Aerobic activity can get your heart pumping, make you sweaty, and quicken your breathing.

When you give your heart this kind of workout on a regular basis, your heart will get even better at its main job — delivering oxygen (in the form of oxygen-carrying blood cells) to all parts of your body.

So you want to do some aerobic exercise right now? Try swimming, basketball, ice or roller hockey, jogging (or walking quickly), inline skating, soccer, cross-country skiing, biking, or rowing. And don't forget that skipping, jumping rope, and playing hopscotch are aerobic activities, too.
