GSS Gwagwalada to host golf competition

 The Authorities of Government Secondary School, GSS, Gwagwalada has given indication that it would soon host the maiden FCT Secondary Schools Golf competition. 

Principal of the school Alh. Sani Ladan, made this known in his speech at the school's annual inter-house sports competition held in Gwagwalada. 


The principal told the gathering that the school has begun the construction of six holes mini Golf course, adding that when completed it would be available for any school that wish to use the Gulf course for practise. 

Ladan used the opportunity to appreciate the chairman FCT Golf Association for introducing Golf in secondary schools, even as he applauded his gesture for making GSS Gwagwalada pilot school for grass root Golf initiative.   

The principal while commenting on the significance of the event said sports help to boost students’ mental and physical alertness. 

He commended staff and the local organising committee for contributing in one way or the other for making the 23rd sports event a success, just as he implored invited guest to support the activities of the school for the benefit of the students. 

The special guest of honour and FCT board chairman of Secondary Education Board, SEB, Hon. Musa Yahaya, said the board would provide enabling environment for FCT school to discover talented athletes at the grass roots. 

Meanwhile, Wupa House emerged the overall winner, Abuja House came second while 3rd position went to Lower Usman House.
