3 FCT schools get reward for emerging top in nat quiz

The FCT flag was lifted high when three of its Junior Schools from FCT Universal Basic Education Board received various cash reward as they emerged the overall winner, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up respectively in a recent National Children Quiz Competition held in FCT.

The three schools are JSS Pasali, JSS Peyi and JSS Kwali came top in a keenly contested competition among eighteen other public schools across the federation.

Presenting the outstanding schools to the Secretary for Education, Dr. Bala Liman, during the management meeting, the director, FCT Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Adamu Noma, said the competition which was designed to sharpen the skills of the students was put together by Queen Irene Onwuka Peace Foundation with eighteen public schools from other states of the federation and at the end of the competition, FCT three schools emerged victorious carting away the cash reward of N1 million for the overall winner.

Liman said the achievement recorded by the three schools is very impressive feat to reckoned with and give administration sense of pride as education provider who have enhanced the students learning ability.

He commended the students and their teachers for placing FCT in the limelight and assured the students of the Education Secretariat support in motivating them by giving them scholarship for their various outstanding performance.
