ECOWAS to staff: Don’t allow yourelf to be kidnapped
Following security challenges, the Economic Community of West Africa, ECOWAS, has warned its staff to take the issue of security serious in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
In the security advisory dated July 12, 2019 and signed by the director, general administration, Dr. Daniel Eklu, seven ‘crime flash points’ were identified in the FCT; Berger Roundabout, Minister’s Hill Maitama, Gwarinpa, Area 1 and 3, Mabushi Pedestrian Bridge, Galadimawa Roundabout and Kubwa Expressway.
If further noted that ‘local information also indicates that some hoodlums in Church Gate Central Area are now using massive building block stones (interlocking) to target car windscreen. In case you come across these criminals, Do not stop! Do not stop!

Eklu further advised staff of the ECOWAS to be careful from falling victim to “one chance” a parlance used locally to describe criminals who rob passengers in commercial unpainted taxis.
