Why I am running for AMAC chair - Yamawo

A chairmanship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Hon Ishaku Yamawo, said he is in the race to because he understands the plight of those at the grassroots.

Yamawo, who addressed the press at the party’s FCT office on Thursday, said he is confident of securing the party’s ticket for the election slated for March 2016.

“I am convinced I will emerge the candidate of the party in the forthcoming election going by my pedigree. I am a grassroots politician who understands the plight of the masses, and they unanimously asked me to go and represent them and bring back dividends of democracy to them."

The aspirant promised to rehabilitate the area council by reinvigorating all abandoned projects and providing adequate security by adequately financing the local vigilante groups.

He promised to finance three indigent indigenes, annually, from the council to any university of their choice in the world on scholarship if elected.
