Monitoring dept warns against vandalization of water projects

The director, Department of Monitoring and Inspection, Federal Capital Territory Authority, Mr. Olawale Labiyi, has warned against vandalization of water projects located at the railway stations across the Federal Capital City, FCC. 

Speaking during the inspection exercise at Idu Railway station, the director, who was represented by the team leader, Mr. Sani Tswako, said the team was interested in inspection of new works, and the water supply and reticulation works carried out so far. 

According to him, "We are here to inspect the water supply and reticulation to all Train stations and ensure the functionality. All the 12 stations have been connected to water from FCT Water Board and we want to ensure the work was properly executed". 

He said the quality of works covered by Certificate of Valuation No. 33 was satisfactory as it was done in line with contract specifications.

"The excavation, piping and chambers constructed are all in line with layout standard. The work is quite satisfactory," he stated. 

On his part,  Mr. Valentine Obumeyan, who spoke on behalf of the contractors said that the initial plan was to put up a borehole in each of the stations, but transportation secretariat insisted that all rail stations must be connected to water board, hence the new phase of the project.
