Gbagy youth move to preserve culture in Gwags

Gbagy youths residing in Kutunku area of Gwagwalada area council have organised a carnival aimed at preserving their cultural heritage.

Speaking with The Abuja Inquirer during the event, the youth leader in charge of Kutunku ward, Mr. Danladi Salihu, said the essence of the programme was to inculcate good morals in the youths.

He noted that the carnival would be sustained with a view to promoting Gbagy cultural values in the young ones noting, that the event would among other things bring love, unity and peaceful coexistence in the area.

Salihu appealed to the chairman of the council, Hon. Mustapha Adamu, to give priority to youth development, even as he warned the youths to shun cultism, drug abuse and other negative vices.

The youth leader enjoined his members to acquire education to enable them function efficiently in society, saying that education was the best investment one could make in life.

Salihu tasked the youth to contribute their quota in the area of complementing government efforts to tackle the challenges of insecurity in the country just as he enjoined Kutunku vigilante members to sustain the gesture of securing the community.
