Chairman of Governors' Mandate, Earl Osaro Onaiwu, has charged the North East governors to emulate Borno state governor, Babagana Umara Zulum.

Onaiwu noted that if what the governor is doing is replecated in other North East states, the region would be free of insecurity.

The Chairman of Governors' Mandate added that for the region to move forward, the governors should be up and doing, adding that without peace the region would not have a meaningful development.

Onaiwu called on the governors to support and rally round Governor Zulum so that they would be able to fight insurgency to a stand still.

He noted that with their help they would be able to contail the spread of insurgency, banditry and other forms of insecurity in the region.

Onaiwu told the governors to remember their promises during their campaigns, stressing that the electorates deserve the divided of democracy.

The Governors' Mandate boss was of the opinion that good governance will always takes care of challenges, noting that the Borno state governor has demostrated what an ideal democracy should look like.

He said it is high time that governors respect their oath of offices, insisting that the way Zulum is touching lives of the people of the state shows that good governance is achievable.

He said: "Zulum has demonstrated that good governance is achievable. His approach to governance is worthy of emulation. I charged the other governors from the North East, who have the welfare of their people at heart to emulate what the Borno state governor is doing.

"The people deserve care and the Borno state governor is showing it. This is not too much for other governors to do. Zulum has demonstrated courage in the face of insecurity and if other governors from the North East should imitate him, the security challenges in the region would have been a thing of the past.

"The other governors should encourage and join hands with him to root out insecurity in the region. By so doing, these daredevils will be eliminated from that region and the spread will be contailed."
