FCTA begins data capturing of 1, 250 retirees

The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, has begun biometrics data capturing of retirees across the six Area Councils of the territory.

Speaking in an interview with journalists at the commencement of the exercise, the Director of the FCT Area Council Staff Pension Board, Dr Nanzing Nden, said the exercise was meant to capture pensioners under the defined benefit scheme and to update their data.

He said, “It is a routine exercise for the retirees of the area councils and teachers. It is to ensure sanity of purpose and that no deceased pensioners receive pension.”

Nden added that 1, 240 retirees were on the payroll from the 1,250 captured in the last exercise, suggesting that 10 retirees had died in the last one year.
