FGGC, Bwari Celebrates annual Commonwealth Day

v id="m_1407801854910671324yiv8599308086yMail_cursorElementTracker_1616906889649">Students of the Federal Government Girls College, FGGC, Bwari, in a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, has Organised the annual Commonwealth Club Day Celebration with fanfare.




 According to the Coordinator of the group, Sandra Obiajulu, " Through the Commonwealth Club in the School, teachers, Club Coordinators, Parents, Guardians,etc. Create more family-like atmosphere. The club recognizes each child's individuality and makes each child feel special and included.



"The Commonwealth club welcome 


all Parents, not just those that are easy to reach, because Parents reinforce the importance of school, home-work, and activities that build student skills and feelings of success.



" The club, includes Groups of Parents Guardians together to create school-like opportunities, Events, and Programs that Reinforce, Recognize, and Reward Students for Good Progress, Creativity, Contributions, and Excellence.



" The Club also Creates family-like Settings, Services, and Events to enable Parents/Guardians to better support their children.This is why we invite BOGA, PTA, Youth Organisations and Educational Institutions to Celebrate with Us every Year. 



The Club influences the Students positively.They are exposed to Act of Public Speaking,which creates Confidence in them. 



They engage in Debates, Quiz, Drama Performance,New Casting, Poem Recitation ,Cultural Display, Flags Parade among other Activities.Through these, they interact with one another and Perform Excellellently Academically. This is one of the Outstanding Clubs in the College. "






On his part the Chairman Parents Teachers Association, PTA, Rev. Can. Richard O. C. O Adekoya, said "The Commonwealth Club has Increased Confidence of Parents, Guardians and the School positively, because through the activities of students in the club , like Debates, quiz, Essay Competition, Drama, Talk Show, Flag Parade, Cultural Dance  amongst others, we identify intelligent students, we give them award and prizes etc.




"We appreciate all who have in time past supported our programs, dreams and aspirations, we pray for more sponsors, donors etc, to be able to equip them for the future and better Nigeria and the world at large." He noted.




The event was attended by the 'cream de la cream' of the society the General Secretary of Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Barr. Emmanuel Ugboaja, who was represented by Comrade Chukwuma Nzeh of the Young Journalists Forum Nigeria, the Madakin Dutse, Tijjani Inuwa-Dutse, Esq. a life bencher amongst others.
