Women urged to take advantage of ICT to enhance trade
v id="m_1407801854910671324yiv8599308086yMail_cursorElementTracker_1617380244766">The President of Nigeria-Italy Trade Association, Mrs. Nkiruka Okoronkwo, has urged women to take advantage of digital trading to enhance productivity.
She made this known recently at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, between Organisation of Women in International Trade and Ministry of Trade and Investment's, where also noted that the MOU will generate new ideas, innovations to enhance women in agribusiness.
She said " I believe that the signing of this MoU will generate new ideas, innovations and strategies to enhance our women in agribusiness, information and Communications Technology, ICT, for our women in trade regardless of gender, also promoting women's equality in these sectors, our Nigerian Women with entrepreneurial spirit can do better."
Okoronkwo added that, Let's take a look at the COVID 19 pandemic period, the role Nigerian Women in Diaspora played, we were able to make a huge impact in responding rapidly in transferring of knowledge in Digital trading, brand management, and know how, on regulations required in taking their product and meeting their global trade.
The Honorable Minister of State For Trade and Investment, Ambassador Maryam Katagun, who was represented by a Deputy Director in the Ministry at the event noted that women should take advantage of the partnership to expand their capacity and horizon.
