Police, community leaders team-up to combat crime in Kuje

The new Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in charge of Kuje area council, CSP Mohammed Aminu, has promised to liaise with the community with a view to combating crime in Kuje and its environs.

He stated this when stakeholders’ in the area paid him a courtesy call and tasked them to support community policing with a view to tackling security challenges in Kuje.

The police head, used the opportunity to appeal to the residents to closely with the police, just as he implored members of the public to always regard crime prevention and control as a collective responsibility.

The chief superintendent of police, assured people of the area adequate protection of lives and property, even as he warned them against taking laws into their hands, adding that aggrieved individuals should always channel their grievances to the appropriate authorities.

Aminu equally assured stakeholders in Kuje and environs that police would always treat information in confidence and called members of the vigilante to always carry out their activities, just as he tasked community and religious leaders to be monitoring movement of strangers visiting the communities.
