Residents hail DRTS boss on exemplary leadership

Leadership of Directorate of Road Traffic Services, DRTS, in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, under Engr. Aliyu Bodinga has continued to receive commendations from different quarters of the society. 

The recent commendation came from Area Commander in charge of Apo/Gudu district, Mr. Obiorah Okonkwo, who maintained that the director is committed towards providing quality and efficient leadership aimed at taking the directorate to a greater height in the FCT. 

The Principal road traffic officer noted that at present the services of DRTS had improved tremendously due to establishment of additional terminal commands as well as enhanced relation between VIO officers and members of the public and these positive developments are recorded under the current director. 

Okonkwo noted that the act had in no small measure reduced rate of accidents and cases of fake vehicle particulars in the territory, adding that the directorate would continue to put on strong measures to impound vehicles that are not road worthy in Apo and its environs. 

He reiterated commitment to focus on enlightenment campaign aimed at guiding motorists more especially tricycle operators to abide by traffic rules and regulations, just as implored motorists to always ensure their vehicles are in good condition before using them on the road. 

The area commander equally called on motoring public to visit any nearby driver’s license capturing centre for renewal of their vehicle particulars, even as he lauded the initiative of the management of DRTS in the Federal Capital Territory, for the decentralisation of the centres.
