Low turnout of voters in Lugbe

Low turnout of voters was witnessed in Lugbe for the area council elections, as most voters stayed away.

In Polling Unit 009, Lugbe Primary School, very low turnout compared to the last election where as early as 8am voters had organised a queue that stretched almost to the main road and curved into the former Berger yard.

Unlike the previous election, materials arrived at bout 8:30am and voting commenced as at 9:28am.

The same scenario was witnessed at Polling Unit: 008, at Lugbe former ECWA Church. Materials arrived few minutes to 9am.

The polling officer explained that it was due to delay at the Lugbe police station, in allocating officers to escort them to the polling unit.

Low turnout was also experienced at polling Unit 014 Lugbe Secondary School by Car Wash, materials arrived at 8:30am Polling Officer complaining of inadequate seats and very low turnout of electorate.

Same was the case at Polling Unit 010 at Lugbe market.
