A member of the National Working Committee, NWC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Tolu Bankole, has expressed confidence in a favorable verdict for President Bola Tinubu in the Presidential Elections Petitions Tribunal, PEPT, virdict to be delivered tomorrow.
Bankole, in a statement, addressed concerns surrounding the media and social media pressure, describing them as “propaganda” and reassuring Nigerians that there is “no cause for alarm.”
He emphasized the solid grounds of the case presented by both plaintiffs and defendants during the tribunal hearings in Abuja.
“In my opinion, it is evidently clear that the grounds of the petitions against our dear president lack merit, frivolous, a waste of time, and pure academic exercise,” he stated.
Highlighting the integrity of Nigeria’s judiciary, Bankole stated that it is known to be “above board, incorruptible, and not one to be bullied by sore losers and their keypad warriors.”
He expressed confidence that tomorrow’s verdict would uphold this reputation.
The statement noted that President Tinubu’s first 100 days in office demonstrate the president’s capacity and determination to fulfill his renewed mandate to combat poverty, create jobs, and lead Nigeria toward prosperity.
Bankole encouraged Nigerians to embrace democratic process, reminding them that the next national election is in 2027.
He urged those dissatisfied with the current outcome to prepare for the next opportunity rather than resorting to threats of making the country ungovernable.
Bankole called for calm and patience among Nigerians, assuring them that “tomorrow is great.”
The statement comes as Nigerians await the PEPT’s verdict, which will determine the future direction of the nation’s leadership.
