We’ll partner result-oriented organizations to boost healthcare – Aliyu

The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, has restated its commitment towards strengthening the existing health facilities across the six area councils in order to meet the healthcare needs of its teeming population.

In light of this, the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Aliyu, disclosed that the administration was ready to partner with result-oriented organizations willing to provide quality healthcare services to residents.

Aliyu, who made the commitment at the opening ceremony of a state of the art laboratory centre established by the Arab International Laboratory and Diagnostics Centre in Abuja, noted the duty of providing quality healthcare services was daunting that should be achieved.

The minister, however, noted that the administration cannot accomplish this alone, that’s why purposeful partnership remains an option it was willing to look into.

“On our part and in partnership with health stakeholders, we will continue to strengthen the existing healthcare facilities across the six area councils to meet the high demand of our people,” she stated.

The District Hospital Abuja, also took delivery of eight dialysis machines donated to it by the charity arm of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, as part of their social responsibility to address health challenges in the territory.

The faith-based organisation also donated other equipment including a medical water reverse osmosis purification system, and a 30 KVA generator fitted at the newly commissioned Enoch and Folu Adeboye Dialysis Centre set up at the Wuse Hospital.

Aliyu, at the unveiling of dialysis centre, said the facility will further boost healthcare delivery system in the territory.

She commended the leadership of the church for the choice of a lifesaving project at a time of rising number of kidney related cases.

On his part, the Intercontinental Overseer, Christian Social Responsibility of the church, Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, revealed that the Abuja dialysis centre would be the 20th in the series of specialised medical interventions including intensive care unit, dialysis centres, cancer screening centre and primary healthcare centres donated by the church.
