The Anambra State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has strongly rebutted recent allegations regarding zoning arrangements for the 2025 governorship ticket.
The allegations, purportedly made by the APC Elders Forum led by Chief Innocent Obi, suggested that the APC had agreed to zone the governorship ticket to the Anambra South Senatorial District.
In response, the APC clarified that no such zoning arrangements exist within the party.
A statement issued by the Publicity Secretary of the APC Anambra State Chapter, Dr. Valentine Iyke-Oliobi, noted that the APC has never entered into any zoning agreements with any political party.
“The APC has always provided a level playing field for all governorship aspirants under the platform of the party to participate irrespective of their Senatorial zones. This practice has not changed,” the statement asserted.
The party called on its members to disregard any publications suggesting an existing zoning arrangement and cautioned against rhetoric that could create unnecessary tensions ahead of the 2025 governorship election.
Reaffirming their unity, the APC stressed that all significant decisions would be made collectively. The party remains dedicated to presenting a viable alternative to the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), which they accuse of mismanaging the state’s affairs for the past 18 years.
