A member of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Aare Hon. Tolu Bankole, has declared full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as “the compass to Nigeria’s economic stability, political renewal, and social transformation.”
Bankole, in a statement on Tuesday, urged Nigerians to remain focused and back the President and the APC, saying Tinubu understands the path to economic recovery and national growth.
“PBAT is a deep thinker and a reliable partner. He is intelligent and smarter in political engineering and good governance. He is truly a detribalised Nigerian working for the collective good of all,” he said, using the initials PBAT to refer to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The APC chieftain added that the President’s reform agenda is already laying a solid foundation for long-term improvement in the economy and society.
“Nigeria and Nigerians are safe with President Tinubu,” he said.
Bankole also took a swipe at members of the opposition, calling them “a current association of failed politicians” who, according to him, are trying to stop Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. He dismissed their recent concerns about Nigeria becoming a one-party state, describing the claim as false and misleading.
“The idea of a one-party state is neither in the character nor agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said. “President Tinubu is a democrat to the core, who believes in the strength of a vibrant, issue-based opposition that deepens democracy and holds government accountable.”
He added that the opposition’s warning is a “deliberate distraction by jittery politicians who are intimidated by the President’s growing acceptability and performance across party lines.”
On the 2027 general elections, Bankole sounded confident.
“2027 is a done deal. PBAT will emerge victorious in a free, fair and credible election. APC will rule with a clear majority,” he said.
He also responded to predictions of a crisis within the APC. “All prophets and alfas of doom should keep quiet. God is not a man. There is a place for everyone in the All Progressives Congress—this is the party for all,” he said.
Bankole highlighted some of what he described as the achievements of the Tinubu administration. These include improvement in national security, freedom of worship, religious harmony, and increased focus on education and healthcare.
“We are not there yet, but we are surely on the right path with PBAT. Come unto the light now, it is not too late,” he added.
While welcoming new members into the APC, Bankole called on more Nigerians to join the party, saying a better Nigeria is possible under Tinubu’s leadership.
“A greater and better Nigeria is sure with PBAT,” he said.
