The Director General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, flagged off the distribution during a visit to the affected community.

She emphasized that the relief effort was in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to assist in the recovery process and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to mitigating the impact of the tragedy.

“Based on the report of the first rapid assessment carried out by NEMA, NSEMA, and other first responders, we have come to provide immediate assistance of food, non-food items, and medicaments to the affected families,” she said.
