Chairman of the Unity and Reconciliation Committee, URC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Senator Usman Jibril Wowo, has urged party members to resolve their differences and work together ahead of the upcoming area council elections.
In a statement on Thursday, in Abuja, Wowo called on aggrieved APC members to use the party’s internal reconciliation process to settle disputes rather than create divisions. The press release, titled “Build Bridges, Not Walls,” emphasized the importance of unity in strengthening the party’s chances in future elections.
“The area council elections are just around the corner. Let us come together, discuss our differences, and forge a united path for a stronger APC,” Wowo said.
Speaking in Abuja while congratulating Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan, he noted that the Lenten season observed by Christians also reinforces the values of faith, obedience, and reconciliation.
Wowo stressed that conflicts among party members were natural but should be resolved through open dialogue, understanding, and forgiveness. He linked the reconciliation efforts to APC’s poor performance in the last area council elections, insisting that party unity was key to improving future results.
“The party has a duty to promote reconciliation and facilitate amicable settlements among its members,” he added.
He urged members to embrace dialogue, resolve disputes, and strengthen APC in the FCT ahead of the next elections.
