As preparations for President Bola Tinubu’s second year in office gains momentum, the Federal Capital Territory Administration has set aside 19 days for the commissioning of key infrastructure projects across the territory.
The decision was taken during the 14th Executive Committee meeting of the FCTA, chaired by Minister Wike, where details of the commissioning schedule were finalized.
According to Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister, the commissioning activities will begin on June 10, 2025, and run continuously for 19 days.
Among the notable projects slated for commissioning are the renovated International Conference Centre, the Kugbo and Mabushi Bus Terminals, and the Apo-Wassa Road.
Significant road projects also included in the schedule are the N16 interchange, the Maitama-Katampe-Jahi connecting roads, and the Inner Northern Expressway from Ring Road 3 (Idu to Kubwa Road).
Other key projects earmarked for commissioning include CN8 from N5 (Obafemi Awolowo Way) to the Court of Appeal, the N20 Flyover Onnex Kubwa Road, and the Life Junction to Ring Road III corridor.
Additional access roads in Kabulsa-Takushara, Kabusa-Ketti, and Giri District, as well as the 15km road from A2 Junction Abuja-Lokoja Road to Pai in Kwali Area Council, are also on the list. Roads in Ushafa, War College, and Army Checkpoint in Bwari Area Council will also be commissioned.
In addition to these, the FCT Executive Committee approved the award of a contract for upgrading streetlights along the Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway (Ring Road I).
