Heading into the final Premier League round of fixtures on Sunday, both Sels and Raya had kept 13 clean sheets apiece this season.
But with both Forest and Arsenal conceding against Chelsea and Southampton, respectively, the two stoppers shared the award for the 2024-25 campaign.
Raya has maintained his reputation as a top keeper in world football, 12 months after winning the 2023-24 Golden Glove, where he kept 16 clean sheets for Arsenal. And Sels has been a huge part of Forest’s success this season, transforming them from relegation candidates to European football qualifiers.
However, their lofty goal of qualifying for next season’s Champions League has just fallen short after their loss to Chelsea.
Forest signed Belgian international Sels from Strasbourg on February 1, 2024, and since then, he has been a revelation for the Tricky Trees.
Incidentally, the 33-year-old became the first ever Forest player to win a Premier League monthly award following his save against Liverpool in March 2024.
Now that Raya’s Arsenal and Sels’ Forest have finished the Premier League season in second and seventh, respectively, both players can enjoy their summer breaks.
