Julius Berger praised by PCC for zero complaints

Nigeria’s Public Complaints Commission, PCC, has commended Julius Berger Nigeria Plc for its exemplary compliance with regulations, stating that the construction giant deserves an award for maintaining a record free of public complaints.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the company’s headquarters on Wednesday, PCC FCT Commissioner, Hon. Musa Dikko, lauded Julius Berger for its excellence in construction and labor relations.

“Every project executed by Julius Berger is nearly perfect. I say ‘nearly’ because, as they say, no one is perfect,” Dikko said.

He commended the company’s approach to compensation for affected individuals at project sites, noting that Julius Berger’s prompt and fair settlements have fostered public trust.

“Each time compensation is required, our people feel at ease because Julius Berger’s approach is different from other construction companies.

“This commitment has ensured that no complaints have been lodged with the PCC. Where there is no peace, there can be no development, and for this, Julius Berger deserves an award,” he added.

Echoing Dikko’s sentiments, PCC’s State Director of Investigation, Irene Chuka Ogbogu, highlighted the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and its adherence to due diligence.

Responding to the commendation, Julius Berger’s Director of Administration, Alh. Abdulaziz Kaita, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to regulatory compliance and ethical labor practices.

“We have always strived to operate within legal and ethical guidelines. Our cooperation with the PCC has been mutually beneficial, and we remain committed to protecting the rights of workers and the communities we serve,” he stated.

Kaita emphasized Julius Berger’s responsibility as one of Nigeria’s largest construction employers, assuring that the company will continue upholding best practices.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a strong partnership that promotes public trust, compliance, and Nigeria’s infrastructural development.

The PCC delegation on the visit included Hon. Musa Dikko, State Director of Investigation Mrs. Irene Chuka Ogbogu, Deputy Director of Investigation Mrs. Jideri Agbese, Head of Public Relations Mr. Emmanuel Ugboaja, Deputy Head of Public Relations Mr. Alex Akinyele, and Information Officer Ms. Gladys Iduku.
