Ododo urges residents to report crime

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has asked residents to work closely with security agencies by giving useful information that can help stop crime in the state.

In a statement by Ismaila Isah, Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, the call came over the weekend during a stop at Gegu community, Kogi Local Government Area, where the Governor was warmly welcomed by residents on his return from national engagements.

Governor Ododo praised the people of Gegu for their unity, peace, and community spirit, saying such values are important for security and effective community policing.

He urged citizens to report any suspicious activities quickly. “If you see something, say something. Intelligence is the lifeline of security, and every citizen has a role to play. We will not allow criminals to take shelter among us,” the Governor said.

The Governor also said that working together with security officers is key to keeping the gains made in Kogi’s security. He assured residents that his government will continue to support security agencies with logistics and coordination to protect lives and property.

Governor Ododo also called on traditional leaders, community heads, and youths to volunteer timely and accurate information to help prevent crime and ensure criminals are arrested and prosecuted.
