FG completes training of 200 migrants grants refugees, IDP’s

The federal government has  completed training of about 200 Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons,IDPs.

National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, NCFRMI in collaboration with  National Information Technology Development Agency, NiTDA held a 

 5 day Capacity Development Programmes which was flagged off on Monday in Abuja.

Recall, The government had announced it will train 10,000 persons of concern on digital skills across the 36 states including the Federal Capital Territory. 

Other states to follow are Nasarawa, Cross River, and Sokoto States, with 100 beneficiaries each.

Speaking at the closing ceremony on Friday, Director for Human resources, Bello Mohammed Bello who represented the Federal Commissioner Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim urged the beneficiaries to be determined in actualizing the purpose of the training which is to improve their well-being and the society at large. 

“This empowerment training is very practical, Nigeria is migrating from analogue to digital nigeria that is why our collaboration with NiTDA is apt. because we want to also migrate on that and this training has made a great stride .

She said, “I want to also advised the participants to continue to interface with their colleagues, in the area of building partnerships in promoting digital work even after this training” 

That is what this training is expected to achieve. I know by now we know how to set up a computer, organize the computer at least we have new knowledge to go home with.

It is my hope that these training will help you to contribute to Nation-building,”Sulaiman-Ibrahim said. 

Meanwhile, the representative of Director-General National Information Technology Development Agency ,Kashifu Inuwa,Head of e-government training Center, Peter Emakpor, appreciated the determination of the beneficiaries for completing the course. 

He said “The real work starts now. This is the beginning of our concerted effort to work together with our partners to support the capacity building of concerned persons.”

The Women leader, Gongola IDP’s camp, Josephine Stephen, while appreciating the Organisers for the gesture, added that she will ensure she uses the knowledge from the training to create awareness among her community and use the skills to boost her business. 

Another participant, Godwin Douglas, expressed delight in being part of the training that he has made new friends whom the relate in putting each other through .
