Investigations are ongoing following the arrest of five suspects in connection with the death of one Mr. Adimike Godwin of Guzape area of the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the FCT Police Command, his body was discovered following a distress call regarding the inability to reach or access the victim.
The Command, in a statement issued on Tuesday, said, “The FCT Police Command is investigating the death of one Mr. Adimike Godwin of Guzape, which was discovered after a distress call regarding the inability to reach or access him was received.”
Responding officers found Mr. Godwin grievously injured and, as described in the statement, “in the pool of his own blood.” He was immediately evacuated to Karu General Hospital, where “Doctors on duty confirmed his death.”
The statement further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, ordered a discreet investigation which led to the arrest of “five suspects, including a relative.”
While the Command intensifies efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killing, the police urged residents to remain calm and cooperate fully. “Members of the public are urged to remain calm and report any relevant information to the command,” she stated.
The police have yet to disclose further details about the suspects, but the investigation is said to be progressing with priority.
