EFCC arraigns Abuja hotel CEO over alleged N15m fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arraigned the Chief Executive Officer of Blackrock Apartments & Suites Limited, Aminu Datti Ahmed, before a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja over an alleged ₦15 million fraud.

Ahmed was arraigned before Justice M.S. Idris on a one-count charge bordering on the alleged misappropriation of funds.

According to the EFCC, the defendant allegedly converted ₦15 million mistakenly credited to his Taj Bank account. The commission said the money was meant for Braverock Investment Limited as part of payment for a property transaction.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Following his plea, Justice Idris granted him bail in the sum of ₦10 million with two sureties, one of whom must be a businessman with a registered business certificate and swear to an affidavit on the bail bond.

The court adjourned the case until October 21, 2026, for the commencement of trial.
