The National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, South-South, Victor Giadom, has mourned the death of former Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, describing him as a brother, compatriot and bridge-builder.
Giadom, in a condolence statement issued on Wednesday, expressed sadness over the death of the Edo-born politician and extended his condolences to Orbih’s wife, children, siblings and the entire Orbih family.
He described the late politician as a man of courage, wisdom, generosity and commitment to public service, saying his contributions had left an enduring impact on those who knew and worked with him.
Giadom also recalled Orbih’s role in the “Rainbow Coalition”, a cross-party political movement associated with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
According to him, Orbih worked with members of the coalition in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said Orbih’s participation demonstrated his political experience and willingness to build bridges across party lines in the interest of Nigeria.
Giadom noted that Orbih was also recognised across different communities, having received several traditional titles in Edo State and beyond.
He described the late politician’s death as a loss to the Etsako Nation, Edo State and Nigeria, adding that his contributions to public life would remain memorable.
Giadom prayed for the repose of Orbih’s soul and asked God to give his family, friends, political associates and other mourners the strength to bear the loss.
