The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, and DMG Events have unveiled new initiatives for the 2026 Practical Nigerian Content, PNC, Forum, aimed at deepening local participation and expanding opportunities for indigenous businesses in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The initiatives, which include a Local Content Roundtable, a two-day programme for Local Community Contractors, LCCs, and a high-level industry Townhall Session, were announced as preparations intensify for the 15th edition of the PNC Forum scheduled for November 30 to December 3 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The new activities were unveiled on Tuesday during a strategic meeting between officials of NCDMB and DMG Events and the Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Dr Peter Pereotubo Akpe, at the Government House, Yenagoa.
Leading the NCDMB delegation, the Board’s General Manager, Corporate Communications, Dr Obinna Ezeobi, said the forum had generated significant economic impact in Bayelsa State and remained an important platform for exposing young people in the Niger Delta to opportunities in the oil and gas industry and other sectors.
Ezeobi conveyed the appreciation of the NCDMB Executive Secretary, Engr Felix Omatsola Ogbe, to the Bayelsa State Government for its sustained support for the forum over the past 15 years, particularly its hosting of the opening banquet and support for the Youth PNC segment.
Also speaking, DMG Events team leader, Ms Olamide Oloko, outlined the key additions to this year’s programme, including the Local Content Roundtable scheduled for November 30 and the two-day engagement with Local Community Contractors, designed to help them scale their operations.
She said another major innovation would be a breakout session where stakeholders would deliberate on issues expected to shape the direction of Nigerian Content development over the next decade.
The programme will also feature a Townhall Session involving key industry leaders, including the NCDMB Executive Secretary, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Regulatory Commission, the Chairman of the Oil Producers Trade Section and the Chairman of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria.
Senior Manager, Zonal Coordination, NCDMB, Mr Adebayo Joseph, also highlighted plans for the Youth PNC, which is designed to expose young Nigerians to emerging opportunities and equip them with competencies for successful careers.
In his response, Bayelsa Deputy Governor Akpe pledged the state government’s continued partnership with NCDMB and DMG Events, assuring the delegation of adequate security and continued support for the conference.
Akpe also reaffirmed Bayelsa’s commitment to hosting the gala dinner and participating actively in the main conference and Youth PNC.
He commended NCDMB for integrating some participants from the 2025 Youth PNC into its capacity-building programmes, while calling for greater participation of senior oil and gas industry officials at the welcome gala dinner.
The 2026 PNC Forum will hold at the NCDMB Conference Centre, Yenagoa, and is expected to strengthen collaboration among government, industry players and local businesses while promoting greater value retention and investment in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
