2027: Wike, Fubara bloc pledges 3M Rivers votes for Tinubu

Political heavyweights in Rivers State on Saturday, pledged their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The joint declaration was made before a capacity crowd at the 40,000-seat Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
FCT Minister and Presidential Campaign Council Coordinator for Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, dismissed opposition candidates, stating that the state’s political direction is already settled.
Wike cited 37 federal appointments given to Rivers indigenes and major ongoing infrastructure projects as the foundation of the state’s alliance with the presidency.
Wike directly criticized African Democratic Congress, ADC, vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, over public claims that he does not need to canvas the state.
“Let it be on record that the vice-presidential candidate of ADC has told the world that he does not need to campaign in Rivers State.
“Brotherhood in politics has nothing to do with blood relationship. Our brother is Bola Ahmed Tinubu because he identified with the people of Rivers State, constructed the Bonny road, and established a federal university in Ogoni.”
On his part, Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, credited the President for his personal intervention during the state’s past political crises, pledging the state’s grassroots machinery under Wike’s guidance.
Fubara stated that a cross-party coalition is fully synchronized to deliver a massive voter turnout.
“Mr. President, when our state was at a crossroads, you intervened as a father and a true statesman. As a government firmly in control of the grassroots, we will repay your kindness with our votes, loyalty, and support.”
“Under the guidance and direction of our leader, the honorable minister, we will campaign and mobilize our people to deliver a decisive victory with not less than 3 million votes for Mr. President,” he promised.
Also, the state’s APC governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Kingsley Chinda, noted that local voters would demonstrate their appreciation for federal infrastructure investments by turning out en masse with their Permanent Voter Cards on election day.
Senator Magnus Abe stated that local voters support the administration’s difficult fiscal policies, including the removal of petroleum subsidies.
Abe credited Wike with organizing formerly opposing political camps into a singular cross-party “Rainbow Coalition.”
“The Rainbow Coalition is a group of people of different ideologies, tribes, and religions who have come together under one supreme principle: that Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu is doing well for Nigeria.”
“Voters in Rivers State know that you removed fuel subsidy not to cause hardship, but because subsidy was killing Nigeria. The voters here are well-informed, and we are fully behind you,”
