Worried by the devastation flooding has caused in many communities in Delta state, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has set up 10 camps across the state to accommodate displaced persons.
The Director General, Delta State Bureau of Orientation, Bar. Eugene Uzum, stated this while briefing journalists in Asaba on the update of the flooding.
He said the state government has repeatedly warned Deltans to stay away from flooded areas and has put measure in place to avert flooding.
Uzum stated that while the state government puts the measures in place to assist and was sending relief materials to victims across the state, he said the state governor was highly pained.
According to him, the various senatorial districts have been mapped out and efforts are on to ensure that the flooding do not wreck more havoc in the state.
He explained that Governor Okowa has given directive senistisation efforts should be ramped up to create the necessary awareness amongst residents on the flooding and associated dangers.
