The Director, FCT Department of Outdoor Advertisement and Sinage, Dr. Babagana Adam is currently embroiled in the scandal rocking the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), revenue collection structure.
This is as Dr. Babagana Adam has been accused of using undesignated account which he is the sole signatory to collect government revenue.
The revelation followed the lingered face-off between the technical partners of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Takushara Nig. Ltd, engaged to aid in revenue collection from signpost within the Area Council and the FCT Department of Outdoor Advertisement and Sinage (DOAS).
It could be recalled that Dr. Adam had few days ago addressed a press conference where he described Takushara Nig. Ltd. and its staff as ‘revenue impostor’ that will be dealt with by the Administration.
He explained how the administration arrested the Chief Executive Officer of Takushara Nig. Ltd/ADM Media Venture, Comrade Amagbo Donald, while trying to impersonate as revenue collector for AMAC.
Meanwhile, in a chat with journalists in Abuja, Comrade Donald, denied ever been arrested for collecting revenue on behalf of Abuja Municipal Area Council.
He said that such arrest couldn’t have been possible after being duly engaged by the council to collect revenue on their behalf.
Donald therefore, opened up on the reason why the Director is fighting tooth and nail deprive the Area Council from exercising its constitutional right of collecting her revenue.
Comrade Donald accused him of diverting government revenue into an account he is a sole signatory to adding that the transactions in the account is shredded in secrecy.
He said that the briefing became imperative for him to clear his good name, earned over the years through hard work, integrity, professionalism and dedication to duty, law and order.
While demanding apology from the DOAS boss to AMAC, Takushara Nig. Lts and himself,
Furthermore, he threatened to take legal actions against DOAS Director if he fails to apologise to AMAC, Takushara Nig. Lts and himself within the next 48 hours.
Speaking further, he called on the the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), among others, to quickly arrest and prosecute Baba-Gana Adam for cornering government funds for personal gains, even as he warned only then would revenue from outdoor advertisement and signage in the FCT be safe and intact.
“Babagana Adam is interested in smearing me and my company, I have never been arrested or invited for questioning by security agents or any organisation, so is very strange to me to hear, and read in media that I was arrested and released after pleading.
“When and where did security agents arrest me? I have all the necessary documents that AMAC engaged me as its only approved technical partner, so all the reports about me by DOAS are meant to malign me, they are false, I urge the security agencies to wade into this matter.
“The self acclaimed director of DOAS is the sole signatory to the account, which is even ill act. DOAS has no law establishing it, Adam is running a one man show. EFCC, DSS, Police and ICPC should check mate the DOAS director fraudulent activities in the name of revenue.
“There are more facts we have about him, we will release them when the time comes”
Amagbo challenged the FCT – DOAS director to present full prove that made him, Adam qualify to be in-charge of Outdoor Advertisement and Signage collection in the city, touting in the name of DOAS.
He explained that the Adam’s led DOAS has no law establishing it but the director was discrediting AMAC and deforming professionals empowered by the council’s authorities to regulate and raise revenue through legitimate means.

Donald also called on the FCT Minister to impress on DOAS boss to stop the ‘shenanigans’ and comply with the several court judgements as well as the constitution and allow the Area Council to exercise its right.
