The Bauchi Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Babayo Aliyu Misau, has been suspended by his ward leadership for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities.
Misau was suspended in his ward, Kukadu Gundari, Misau Local Government Areas of the state.
The notice of suspension was made during a press conference on Saturday, jointly by the executive of his ward led by the ward chairman, Ibrahim Zango Lawan, Secretary, Aliyu Hassan Adamu and the Assistant women leader, Asabe Ahmed

They said it held an emergency meeting on Friday and considered among many other things before it, the immediate suspension of the Chairman including obvious and proven anti-party activities and abuse of office.
In addition, the action to suspend him indefinitely became necessary as a result of his flagrant violation of the party’s constitution.
Misau is accused of engaging in anti- party activities before and during the general election in a way that undermined the success of the party at the just concluded polls.
The group said they are yet to communicate the suspension to the state, local and national chapters as the constitution at the ward level that APC constitution already willed them the power to suspend any party official engaging in anti-party activities.
The Chairman, Ibrahim Zango Lawan, said “We are here this afternoon to announce the suspension of the Bauchi state APC chairman in person of Babayo Misau as the chairman and member of the APC. We took this decision because the chairman, now former, was found guilty of anti-party activities”.
Also speaking, the ward Secretary, Aliyu Hassan Adamu stated that among other offences, the state chairman displayed his ballot papers during the governorship and state house of assembly elections where he voted the party for the position of the House of Assembly but did not thumb print for the party in the governorship ballot paper.
“So many things happen that we are not happy about, as the APC bauchi state chairman he is meant to bring together members of the party to actualize APC’s victory in the state.
On her part, Assistant woman leader of Gundari ward, Asabe Ahmed said, “the state chairman has never called us for a meeting to plan the victory of the party. He doesn’t include us in his activities.” I join to say we have suspended him indefinitely.
