Governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in Benue state, Mr. Herman Hembe, has called on Benue public to vote for his party for national transformation.
Hembe, who stated this during the commissioning of the LP secretariat in Makurdi, said the party is for the ordinary people, pensioners, civil servants, market women and teachers, adding that the party is the one that will bring the masses out of the depressing situation they are.
“If we are government, issue of non-payment of salaries will not be an issue again. My father lived and died as a teacher in this state. They say teachers’ reward is in heaven. We want to bring that reward to them here.”
The federal lawmaker representing Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency, cautioned Benue people against voting the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, saying they are products of godfatherism who want to maintain their grip on the state treasury.
“Those candidates in the APC and PDP are products of godfatherism and the biggest problem in Benue state is godfatherism. They want to put people there not minding their competence, they just want to have access to the treasury.
“We will not give them that access. We will not allow them and the people who will ensure we win in 2023 are you people. If all of us go back home and tell one person or two persons to go and get their PVCs and campaign from house to house, we will achieve it.”
He lamented that Benue has suffered enough deceit in the hands of the present government who he said are hiding under herdsmen attacks to cover up their non performance.
