Inside life of Abuja ‘big boy’ alleged kidnapper

For John Lyon, Abuja big boy currently cooling his heels in a police cell, this would no doubt be a sober moment as he reflects on the many motivational quotes he posted regularly on social media especially, Facebook.

Lyon, Bayelsa-born, will be rueing his luck as he is now a guest of the police on allegation of being a kidnapper.

In a video that has gone massively viral, Lyon is seen in handcuffs begging for forgiveness as a man whose face is not shown in the video accuses him of being one of those that kidnapped and nearly killed him.

Lyon, who fronts as an interior décor expert under the Lion Interior Hub, denies being part of those who kidnapped his accuser but admits to have kidnapped not less than two people, while saying his wife just put to birth.

A stroll down his Facebook page by The Abuja Inquirer shows a man that could easily have fooled a lot of his over 4, 500 followers on the microblogging site.

For instance, on a video he posted on June 12 this year with a female passenger at the back of the car miming and dancing to “Overdose” featuring Mavins, it was not doubt that Lyon was having the time of his life.

Since his arrest, the post has garnered over 1, 200 comments and 120 shares with many mocking him.

Also, on April 10, he posted, “omo life no easy ooh.” He accompanied the post with three pictures showing off an apparently expensive wristwatch.

With over 499 comments and 22 shares at the time of going to press, Lyon now without doubt knows that “life no easy.”

As if it was a foreshadow of what was to come, on April 27, he posted, “Nothing good ever cames (sic) from too many people knowing your business. being private and lowkey is the best way to be.”

But lived far from his own admonition as he sowed off on social media with reckless abandon. Or was it because of his alleged criminal life as a kidnapper?

Over two years ago, February 20, 2020, he posted, “If you saw the size of the blessing coming, you would understand the magnitude of the battle you are fighting. David Lyon never give-up.”

Indeed, he now faces the biggest legal battle of his life and if the video of him begging for forgiveness, then, he might be far from not giving up.
