FCTA laud youth council for peaceful conduct of election

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has commended the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, FCT Chapter, for conducting a credible election devoid of any rancour.

Mandate Secretary of FCT Social Development Secretariat, Hajiya Hadiza Kabir, who made the commendation in her congratulatory message to the newly elected executives of the council, noted that relevant provisions of the NYCN constitution were painstakingly adopted during the September 23 election, thereby leading to a free, fair and credible exercise.

She said officials of the Youth Department who witnessed and monitored the election alongside representatives from the Department of State Security, the Nigerian Police and the Civil Defense Corps, confirmed that diligence and due process were followed in line with the extant rules and relevant provisions of the NYCN constitution.

The Secretary congratulated Suleiman Ango for emerging as the Chairman of the FCT Chapter of NYCN, for a second tenure having served as the immediate past chairman of the youth organization in the FCT.

Kabir charged the Comrade Suleiman Ango led excos to unify the entire youths of the FCT, ensure transparency in running the affairs of the council and reposition the organization in other to live up to its mandate.

The FCT Administration, through the Social Development Secretariat, pledge to continue to give support to the council programs and ensure strict supervision of its activities through the Youth Department of the Social Development Secretariat according to the extant rules guiding its establishment. 

Announcing the outcome of the result, Ambassador Abdulrazak Shaibu, chairman of the 8-Man electoral committee declared Suleiman Ango, who was unopposed, as winner of the elections and chairman of the FCT Chapter NYCN.

Other members of the Executives include, Deputy Chairman, Irimiya Salome, Secretary General, Dadanla Kazeem, Treasurer, Yahaya Maikas, Financial secretary, Isah Usman, alongside 14 others elected to various elective positions.
