Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated Alhassan Yahaya on his election as the President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at the just concluded triennial delegates’ conference held in Owerri, Imo State.
In a statement by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Ismaila Isah said, Governor Ododo described Yahaya as a seasoned media professional whose commitment to the welfare of journalists in Nigeria was evident during his tenure as Deputy National President of the union. He commended Yahaya’s consultative and inclusive approach during his campaign, urging him to maintain these principles in his leadership and prioritize the welfare of NUJ members.
The governor also lauded members of the NUJ for conducting themselves in an orderly manner during the election process, which ensured a smooth transition of leadership.
In addition, Governor Ododo congratulated the General Manager of Radio Nigeria Prime FM Lokoja, Alhaji Momoh Jimoh Adeiza, on his election as the NUJ Vice President for Zone D, which covers Kogi, Benue, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau states, and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The governor described MJ Adeiza as a distinguished journalist who has consistently brought recognition and pride to Kogi State through his professionalism and dedication to the media profession.
Governor Ododo extended his best wishes to the newly elected NUJ executives, expressing confidence in their ability to uplift journalism standards and foster unity within the union.
