Pioneer students shower 10 UniAbuja colleagues with N1mn scholarships

Ten students of the University of Abuja have benefited from the N1 million scholarship grant by the pioneer students of the University of Abuja, 1990/1991 session.

A total sum of N100, 000 was awarded to each of the beneficiaries during the week.

The pioneer students, led by a veteran broadcaster, Hajia Rafatu Salami, said the gesture was the first step by the group to give back to the society, especially the university that has made much impact on them.

The pioneer group was received by the Vice-Chancellor Prof Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, and other members of staff in his office.

Similarly, another alumnus of the university, Mr Mohammed Mohammed, has disbursed the sum of N20, 000 to some outstanding students, pledging to do more for his alma mater, in due course.

Meanwhile, Ayantayo Emmanuel of the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Abuja, has been inaugurated as president of the Students Union Government, SUG.

Emmanuel was inaugurated along with nine others who will serve as vice president, secretary general, speaker, director of sports, director of information etc.

The inauguration followed a successful election of the officers held on Friday, December 9, 2022.

While inaugurating the SUG, the Vice-Chancellor, Na’Allah, assured the Student Representative Assembly, SRA, of the commitment of the university’s management to provide the means to maintain standard services and conducive learning environment.
